Riverland volleyball team drops two at state

The Riverland Community College volleyball team ended its season with two hard-fought matches at the MCAC state volleyball tournament over the weekend.

The event was held Saturday and Sunday at Northland Community and Technical College.

The Blue Devils, seeded No. 4 in their bracket, opened with No. 1 Hibbing Saturday and fell 25-18, 25-18 and 25-9.

In the consolation bracket, Riverland dropped its match to Mesabi Range Community College 25-21, 25-16, 25-13.

Ridgewater Community College won the tournament over Rochester Community Technical College.
