Early winter continues in Mower County

Roads are slick out there

A mixture of snow and ice is making roads slippery throughout Austin and surrounding areas Friday.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation is reporting fair conditions on I-90 in Mower County to the Wisconsin State Line (near La Crescent), with light snow and wet and icy roads.

The National Weather Service is reporting rain and snow throughout the region this afternoon with wind gusts as high as 25 mph. Little to no snow accumulation is expected.

For tonight, the NWS is forecasting a slight chance of rain and snow before 1 a.m and mostly cloudy. Saturday's forecast is sunny with a high of 49.

So nice to see that the City of Austin's Street Department just "had to" go out and plow the major roadways here in town. What a waste of taxpayers money when the stuff was a classic "here today, gone tommorrow" snow!!! Wonder WTF the Street Dept Clowns where thinking!! NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
