Blooming Prairie grad Ian Cambell ran in the Division III national cross country championship race in Cleveland, Ohio Saturday.

Campbell, a junior at Hamline University, finished fifth on his team and 194th out of 276 runners overall with a time of 27:30.1 in the 8K race.

Hamline took 23rd as a team.

It is just the fourth time Cambell, who has a major in pyschology and minor in coaching, has run for Hamline this season.

Campbell graduated from BP in 2007 and he took 37th at the state cross country his sophomore year and 51st his senior year, against a much faster field.

In track, Campbell took fourth in the 800-meter run and sixth in the 1600-meter run his senior year at BP.
