Wisconsin man charged with driving while intoxicated
Allen Ray Moody allegedly drove the wrong way down Interstate 90 Thursday night

A Wisconsin man faces two gross misdemeanor charges for allegedly driving down Interstate 90 while drunk Thursday night.
Allen Ray Moody, 53, of Westby, Wisc., was charged Friday with second- and third-degree driving while intoxicated.
According to a criminal complaint, Moody drove east in the westbound lane for several miles between Elkton and Grand Meadow, near County Road 13.
No one was injured, but Moody did reach speeds in excess of 60 mph, the complaint states.
A Mower County sheriff’s deputy responded and attempted to stop Moody’s vehicle while warning other motorists with emergency lights.
Moody then attempted to cross a median into the eastbound lane of traffic. The deputy was able to cut off Moody’s vehicle and stop him.
An open bottle of brandy was found in the car, and when asked how much he had to drink, Moody said “enough,” according to the complaint.
He was taken to the Law Enforcement Center, where he did not submit to an alcohol breath test.
According to the complaint, Moody was convicted of operating while intoxicated in Wisconsin in April 2007. He is in Mower County custody on $12,000 bail, or $6,000 with court conditions, which include no alcohol use and submission to random chemical testing.
Moody’s arraignment is scheduled for Nov. 19.

Another example of a chemical dependency problem that we attempt to solve by throwing it into the legal system.
