Root is Miss Hey Days

HAYFIELD — Nicole Root was crowned Miss Hey Days at a coronation Friday night in the high school auditorium.
The other candidates were Lora Arens, Kelsey Johnson, Rachel Schimek, Chelsie Thistlethwaite and Michaela Van Peursem.
Arens and Johnson were named Community Service Scholarship winners. The candidates voted Arens as Miss Congeniality. Rachel Schimek was crowned the Hey Days princess.
Special guests at the ceremony included 2009 Miss Minnesota USA Erica Nego and the first Miss Hey Days, Amy Anderson Caron.
