Wife reports infidelity; husband then charged with forgery
Published Saturday, August 8, 2009
An Austin man faces felony forgery charges for a fraudulent document found on him after his wife reported that he was having sex with a juvenile.
Jose Lopez-Rodriguez, 34, appeared in court Monday on two counts of aggravated forgery for possessing a Quality Pork Processors work card in the name “Rafael Vidal.”
Officers responded to the criminal sexual conduct call on the 600 block of 10th Street Northeast and were approached by Lopez-Rodriguez, who said he wanted to go to the Law Enforcement Center to discuss the case.
He was patted down upon entering the squad car, which is when the fraudulent document was found.
Lopez-Rodriguez’s wife said he was having sex with a 16-year-old female, according to a police report.
The report states that Lopez-Rodriguez admitted to having sex with the girl but said it was always consensual.
Charges are not likely to be filed in the sexual conduct case, according to the report.
Lopez-Rodriguez is in Mower County custody on the felony forgery charges and is scheduled for arraignment Aug. 13.

The so called "criminal justice system" is a joke, and is in shambles. Nothing should come as a surprise any more. The only ones going to jail now are tax paying citizens.

I agree with these comments. However, we have to many illegal aliens in our jails - and they are NOT tax-paying citizens. Tax dollars are paying for their incarceration. How are we to keep them from coming right back here if they are actually deported? More than the Criminal "Justice" System in in a shambles!

Fine the government of their native land for allowing them to illegally enter our country. Every time an illegal alien is deported, bill the home nation $150,000. Triple the fine for each subsequent illegal entry.

What type of stuff old man? You want to shoot him for being a forger? Or is it that he had totally legal - although morally questionable - sex? Perhaps you should be complaining to your legislators who have decided that having sex with a 16 year old is acceptable behavior for an adult.
Skillive - how many illegal aliens are in "our jails"? Just curious on how many is "to (sic) many".
metisman - you have made the "fine Mexico" argument before. I don't think you have applied much thought to your suggestion. How would fining them work? What if they didn't pay? Is there international law to support such a fine? Is there any historical support for the concept of one sovereign country fining another for boarder crossings? Has the fining country been successful in collecting the fine? Mexico owes us billions of dollars already that we cannot collect, how would adding fines change that dynamic?
