Kira Potach, part of Austin's No. 2 doubles team, hits a shot during their match against Albert Lea Thursday afternoon at Paulson Courts.

The Packer girls tennis team rolled past Albert Lea 7-0 at Paulson Courts Thursday.

Austin (8-1 overall, 4-0 Big Nine) got solid performances from No. 2 singles player Kathryn Gavin and Catherine Wagner at No. 3 singles as neither Packer allowed a point to her opponent.

“Both of those girls are undefeated at their position this year and both are just intense on the court,” Austin head coach Thomas Tauchnitz said of Gavin and Wagner. “When my number two and number three singles players get you down they don’t let up. They bury you. Both are so mentally tough.”

Hanna Middlebrook beat Taylor Nelson of Albert Lea 6-4, 6-0.
