The Blooming Prairie volleyball team cruised early and held on late in a win over New Richland/HEG on the road Tuesday night by scores of 25-18, 25-14, 21-25, 26-24.

Kassie Lueth, who finished with 12 kills, 10 digs, and four ace blocks, found a hole in the NRHEG defense to score the game winning point for BP (2-0 overall) in the fourth game. The Awesome Blossoms had led 24-21 after reserve Erin Johnson served four straight points.

“We made a lot of scrappy plays at the end of the fourth game on balls that would normally drop,” BP head coach Gina McLaughlin said. “We did not want to go to a game five with New Richland.”

The Blossoms jumped out to an early lead in games one and two.

“Once we got a lead in those ones it was clear sailing,” McLaughlin said. “That usually doesn’t happen against New Richland.”

Marie Morem had 19 digs and 13 kills for BP, Jordan Noble had 35 assists and six digs, Lynnae Nelson had 13 digs and six kills, and Ashley Hueman had 10 digs.
