Published Monday, October 13, 2008
ADAMS — A mother and her 4-year-old daughter were hospitalized following an accident Friday morning.
According to the Mower County Sheriff’s Office, the mishap occurred 9:50 a.m. Friday south of Adams at the intersection of 670th Avenue and 110th Street. The van driven by the mother allegedly ignored a stop sign at the intersection and slammed into a pickup truck. The mother’s 4-year-old child was ejected from the van to the side of the road. Two Mayo One air ambulances took the pair to St. Mary’s Hospital, Rochester, for treatment.
The pickup truck came to rest atop an electrical utility box.
According to the Sheriff’s Office report, the driver exited the vehicle, but his passenger remained in side until a Freeborn - Mower Cooperative Services crew arrived at the scene to disconnect power to the utility box.
An Adams Area Ambulance Service crew rushed the pair to Austin Medical Center - Mayo Health System, where they were treated and released.

lets not forget car seats for children as well. cell phones, blown tires, falling asleep at the wheel whatever the case maybe. Car seats have been proven to save lives.
