Letter: Franken against gun ownership

Published Thursday, June 12, 2008

In one of Senate candidate Al Franken’s literary efforts titled, “Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot,” he reveals his personal feelings about a topic important to many Minnesotans. In chapter 12 of his book, I learned that candidate Franken is against private ownership of guns due to his belief that firearms in the home are “too dangerous.” I believe these views are more consistent with California or New York, where Mr. Franken still maintains corporate interests.

His problem is Minnesota has always been a pro-gun state. Remember, a bipartisan majority passed “conceal and carry.” I called the National Rifle Association’s legislative office April 22 for Senator Coleman’s most recent NRA rating score. Coleman’s previous votes and questionnaire answers qualified him for the highest category (A).

I wonder why he is in "Category (A)" Possibly for his staunch support for the worst President in our nations history. Voting with President Bush 98% of the time. Have you heard about our America's recent economic problems he led us into? or is that why you want to cling to your guns because we have no money? look at the bigger picture. Coleman is all about big business and making the rich richer and the poor poorer and exploiting Minnesotans for their love of guns.

Thank you Mr. Holley for writing this magnificent letter. Now that I know Al Franken is against gun ownership I will put "voting for Norm Coleman" on my to-do list; right behind "contract HIV" and "jump off a bridge".

Do any of you really believe Al Franken will be any better? This is a guy who can't even manage his own finances and career.

Let's hope Franken speaks up against 2nd Amendment rights. That's the sword the Democrats always fall on.
