Riverland opens season with win in volleyball

The Riverland volleyball team opened its season with a three game sweep at Pillsbury College in Owatonna by scores of 25-23, 26-24, 25-10 Tuesday.
“We played pretty well,” Riverland head coach Helen Jahr said. “The pace is a lot faster for our freshman, but this was a good opening match win for us.”
Tiffany Preuss had 10 assists and seven aces for Riverland, Krissy Schemmel had seven assists, Ashley Lau had eight kills, Kelly Hendricks had two blocks and Kate Krogh had 10 digs.
