Hayfield grad and Riverland Community College freshman Sophia Waldner was named MCAC Southern Division Player of the week for women’s basketball recently.

Waldner tallied 29 points, 10 rebounds and four assists in a 63-53 win over Crown College JV and she had 11 points and six rebounds on the road against Hibbing Community College. Waldner had another breakthrough performance when she had 22 points, six rebounds and five assists against Rainy River.
