Bruins surge to claim 4-2 win over Wilderness

The Austin Bruins took the first of a two-game weekend series against the Minnesota Wilderness Friday night, winning 4-2 on the road.

The Bruins rallied from a 2-1 deficit in the second period to gain the win with goals from Andy Willis and Valdemar Ahlberg.

Austin’s Benito Rosa got the Bruins on the board early in the first, needing just 25 seconds to claim the one-goal advantage. Travis Kothenbeutel added an insurance goal at the end of the third period.

Mads Sogaard was back in net and stopped 28 of the 30 shots he faced.

The Bruins are back at home Saturday for the second game against the Wilderness at 7:05 p.m.
