October senior travel begins with Duluth trip

As autumn has officially been welcomed, a  riverboat cruise on the Mighty Mississippi was on our list of trips we enjoy in the fall. Delicious rolls, fruit and hot coffee were awaiting us as we arrived.  The four-tier “Celebration Belle riverboat can host up to 800.

The captain narrated as we passed scenic areas  to be pointed out along with life around the river.

There were two decks of live music during the day, along with a delicious hot buffet dinner served on the dance floor area.

The top deck was popular for that fresh air feeling.

The leaf changes were only just beginning, which made for some great views of the lush green areas which lined the scenic road alongside.

And not to forget, the third deck was filled with souvenirs and lots of ladies jewelry.

Duluth trip

The first part of October, our destination will also include a riverboat cruise.  This time it will be Lake Superior in Duluth.  This trip will host many of the stops that we expect to see in the North Shore Drive area: a train ride, a visit to the lighthouses and Glensheen Mansion, and a stay in the Canal Park area. The lift bridge, is always fascinating, along with the Maritime Museum. That entire area continues to add to its beauty with shops, stands and entertaining restaurants. Grandma’s, is one in particular is one that is often referred to.

Our tours always include a lot of tours, museums, and history of the areas which we are visiting.  This one is sure to be the same.

This will be a three-day motor coach tour.
