Jets fly over Bruins in OT win

Despite having two leads, the Austin Bruins were not able to finish off the win Friday night, losing to the Janesville Jets 3-2 in overtime at Riverside Arena.

The Bruins’ Erik Palmqvisk scored at the 2:16 mark over overtime to give the Jets the win.

Austin took an early lead in the first period when Travis Kothenbeutel gave the Bruins a 1-0 lead at just 1:28 in.

Janesville’s Kip Hoffmann knotted the score in the second period before Austin reclaimed the lead in the third period on Dante Zapata’s power play goal at 9:31.

But the Jets came right back, tying the score at two towards the end of the third coming off the stick of Regan Cavanagh.
