Packers run strong at Lake City cross country invite

The Austin boys cross country team took second and the Packer girls finished third at the 11-team Lake City Invite Tuesday.

Henry Hinchcliffe took second for the Packer boys with a personal best time, Brock Lawhead took fifth with a personal best time, Mitch Mayer took 11th with a personal best time and Raymond Lucero took 18th with a  personal best time.

Henry looked very good throughout the whole race,” Austin head coach Tony Einertson said. “We talked about pacing prior to the meet and what he thought he could run. He was right on with everything. Brock and Mitch both looked great as well.”

Abby Lewis took third for the Austin girls and Morgan Hose set a career best time with a fifth place finish.

“Morgan was ready to run today,” Einertson said. “It was one of the best races I have ever seen her run. The girls finished third in a very strong field.”
