The Austin Bruins opened their season with a 1-0 loss to the Northeast Generals in the NAHL Showcase in Blaine Thursday.
The game was scoreless after two periods, but the Generals took the lead for good when Matthew Wiesner scored early in the third period.
Alex Schilling had 26 saves in the loss for Austin.
