Johnson’s hitting leads Rebels past Dover-Eyota in five games

The Southland volleyball team opened up its season with a five-game win over Dover-Eyota (0-2 overall, 0-1 Three Rivers) as it won by scores of 21-25, 25-21, 25-17, 22-15, 15-6 in Adams Thursday.

Brianna Johnson had 17 kills for Southland (1-0 overall, 1-0 Three Rivers) and Taylor Bhend added 34 set assists.

“It was a great all around team effort,” Southland head coach Lisa Hovde said. “I was so proud  as they never gave up and fought for every point.”
