The Hayfield volleyball team picked up a clean sweep over Medford (1-1 overall) as it won by scores of 25-13, 25-21, 25-13 in Hayfield Thursday.

Carrie Rutledge had 11 kills and 12 digs for Hayfield (2-0 overall) and Kate Kruger added 10 kills.

“This was a good solid win. Medford played a very scrappy style of defense and at times we lost our focus,” Hayfield head coach Jeremy Struck said. “We just have to continue to work through those tough spots. There will be times when we need to pause and regroup. When we can slow it down and remember the skill sets we practice everyday, we can be a very dangerous team.”
