Former GameStop employee pleads guilty

A former GameStop employee who stole money from the store pleaded guilty to gross misdemeanor theft in Mower County District Court on Monday.

Rebecca Anne Taylor, 22, of Austin was arrested in July after admitting she had stolen more than $2,500.

According to the court report, a GameStop loss prevention manager told police Taylor had stolen a total of $2,502.98 over a three-month period. He said she provided him with a written statement admitting to the thefts.

Police contacted Taylor, who admitted to stealing the money to help pay her bills.

Taylor is scheduled for sentencing on Nov. 2.
