Dallas was united in marriage to Edith Holtan on June 25, 1950, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kasson, Minnesota, by the Reverend T.E. Moen. He worked at George A. Hormel Company from Dec. 12, 1948, to Dec. 12, 1980.

Dallas will be remembered as being a kind, loving, and generous man that loved sharing krumkake he made to all he encountered. He raised French poodles and groomed many dogs in the area. Dallas invented and patented the Trim Ett-eze Grooming Stand.

He was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Dallas served on the church council, was a member of the American Legion for over 67 years, served on the board at Mid-Town Manor, many years on the Hayfield Fire Association, and did volunteer work at Field Crest Care Center.

For many years Dallas and Edith collected clothing and distributed them to the Marie Sanvick Center in Minneapolis. They did some volunteer work staying at a shelter for the homeless in Minneapolis. Dallas was co-chairman with Edith for the centennial at Trinity Lutheran Church in 1978, and collected and searched out pictures of pastors from the three churches we have in our history and confirmation pictures.
