Anna M. Lamecker, 55

Anna M. Lamecker, 55, of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, passed away peacefully Friday evening, Feb. 24, 2017, surrounded by her loving family at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota.

She was born Oct. 28, 1961, in Austin, Minnesota, to Lewis and Caroline (Hendrickson) Dunham. Anna grew up in Austin and graduated from Austin High School in 1981. She attended Riverland Community College and earned a cosmetology degree. Anna married John Alm. To this union three children were born. She enjoyed being a stay-at-home mother until her children were raised. The couple later divorced. Anna began a new career at Hormel Foods and worked there 13 years before retiring in 2016. In 2005, she married her soul mate, James Lamecker in Austin. They later moved to Blooming Prairie and instantly fell in love with the small community. Diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in May 2015, she began the hardest fight of her life. The doctors called her a miracle and her family called her Mighty Mouse. Anna’s greatest joy was to be surrounded by family, friends and her dog Molly. She had a great sense of humor and was known for her giving nature. She created a home filled with love and laughter and always seemed to be able to lift the spirits of those around her. Anna’s interests included traveling, all kinds of shopping trips, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Anna was a guiding light of strength and she will be dearly missed by all.

Anna’s survivors include her loving husband, James Lamecker of Blooming Prairie; her three children, Josh (Jen) Alm of Owatonna, Minnesota, Heather (Jeff Dudycha) Alm of Austin, and Sam Alm of Owatonna; and three grandchildren. Her siblings are Vern (Roxanne) Dunham of Austin, Dennis (Wanda) Dunham of Elgin, Minnesota, Ron (Cherie) Dunham of Fridley, Minnesota, and Debra (Walter) Britton of Brownsdale, Minnesota; and many wonderful nieces, nephews and dear friends.
