GM’s Bain is finalist for Mr. Football

Grand Meadow senior Christophor Bain was recently announced as one of the ten finalists for the 2016 Mr. Football Award.

Bain, who is a standout running back and linebacker for the Superlarks, is nominated along with the following players: Blaise Andries of Marshall, Mitchell Fulton of Wabasso, Sam Gibas of Elk River, Noah Gindorff of Crosby-Ironton, Zach Ojule of Spring Lake Park, Jaren Roste of Alexandria, Jacob Stanislawski of Winona, Wade Sullivan of Lakeville North and Tanner Tiege of Big Lake.

The Mr. Football Award is sponsored by the Minnesota Football Coaches Association (MFCA) and the Minnesota Vikings.
The Mr. Football Award was first presented in 2004, with the first winner being Nick Mertens of East Grand Forks High School. The 2015 winner was J.D. Spielman of Eden Prairie High School.

The 2016 Mr. Football Award will be presented at the Mr. Football Banquet 10 a.m. Dec. 4 at the Doubletree by Hilton Minneapolis Park Place Hotel.

The Superlarks will play Edgerton-Ellworth in the Class nine man state quarterfinals in RCTC Stadium in Rochester 7 p.m. Friday.
