Chef Jack ushering in fall with luncheon

Published 7:01 am Sunday, October 23, 2016

Chef Jack for the Cedars is having a Fall Harvest Luncheon at the Mower County Senior Center at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 25.

Music will be provided by Gary Froiland starting at 12:30 p.m. Froiland has enjoyed performing music for more than 30 years. Some of the instruments he plays is the five-string banjo, guitar, harmonica and the musical saw. To make a full band sound, Gary has recorded himself on other instruments, so as he plays along with these recordings you hear many Gary Froilands at the same time, even singing harmony with himself.

Some songs have been put into video, so you can actually see the other instrumentalists in action, projected on a screen for indoor performances. Being Norwegian, he also enjoys telling stories about the likes of Ole and Lena, and of course Sven and Lars.

Chef Jack will be serving a soup luncheon with dessert and beverage. All donations will go to the Senior Center.

You may not be old now, but if you’re lucky, one day you will be. We look forward to seeing you at our many programs at the Senior Center. Don’t forget our coffee shop where every day you can have homemade soup for $1 and sandwich for 50 cents. Note the change for this week only, that on Wednesday, Oct. 26 we will be serving chicken pot pie hotdish for only $2. You are always welcome at the center.
