The Austin Bruins picked up their first win of the season when they edged out the Fairbanks Ice Dogs 3-2 in overtime the Schwan Cup in Blaine Thursday.

Jan Stefka scored the game-winner with 32 seconds left in overtime for the Bruins (1-1 overall).

Austin had just 14 shots on goal, but it made them count as Dan Petrick and Logan Haskins scored early on to make it 2-0.

Jake Kucharski had 39 saves in Austin.
