Bruins drop season opener to Topeka

The Austin Bruins had a late comeback fall short as they lost their season opener 5-4 to the Topeka Roadrunners in the Schwan Cup in Blaine Wednesday.

Topeka took an early 3-0 lead, but the Bruins (0-1 overall) bounced back and they pulled within 5-4 when Dan Petrick, who is from Willbraham, Mass., scored early in the third period.

Robbie Goor had 22 saves in the loss for Ausitn.
