Jehovah’s Witnesses invite people to convention

Jehovah’s Witnesses will soon hold an annual conventions at the Mayo Civic Center Taylor Arena. They extend an open invitation for all to attend. The theme of the year’s program is “Remain Loyal to Jehovah.”

The first of six three-day events held in Rochester will begin June 24, 2016, at 9:20 a.m. Five of the conventions will be in English and the Spanish convention will be July 22-24. An estimated 20,000 will come to the Mayo Civic Center Taylor Arena for the Bible-based programs. Jehovah’s Witnesses in the United States are organizing more than 115,000 congregations.

The official website, www.jw.org, states “The three-day program will feature presentations, each exploring the theme “loyalty.” Additionally, there are 35 video segments specifically for the program plus two feature-length films that will be shown on Saturday and Sunday.

“We strongly believe that loyalty is an essential part of any relationship. Our convention this year features content that will help people develop stronger bonds with friends, family member, and above all, with God. We are confident that all who attend will enjoy with program,”  said  David A. Semonian, a spokesman for Jehovah’s Witnesses at their New York world headquarters, in a press release.

Jehovah’s Witnesses invite anyone in Minnesota, Northern Iowa and Western Wisconsin to attend the convention. Locally, all of the Rochester area’s nine congregations of Jehovah’s Witnesses will help distribute printed invitations to the convention. There is no admission fee. Conventions of Jehovah’s Witnesses are supported entirely by voluntary donations.
