The Southland baseball team opened its season with a 6-1 win over Dover-Eyota (0-1 overall, 0-1 Three Rivers) on the road Thursday.

Chris Webber struck out eight and he allowed just two hits in seven innings for the Rebels (1-0 overall, 1-0 Three Rivers).

Seven separate players had hits for Southland and Webber, James Landherr and Tyler Hanson each had one RBI.
