Diego Soto is a senior thrower on the Austin track and field team.

Q: How did you originally get into your sport?

A: I tried shot put and discus out during seventh grade because It seemed like an event that I could do and I knew I wouldn’t have to run either, I hoped.

Q: What’s your favorite sports memory?

A: Meeting so many new people at meets while walking around and getting to know people. It’s a very social sport.

Q: What have you learned from playing sports?

A: That now matter what your goal is, you can achieve anything by practicing and training your absolute hardest.

Q: What is the hardest part about your sport?

A: Not scratching or falling out.

Q: Who is your biggest sports role model and why?

A: Steve Cook because he is a great role model to the fitness and sports industry. He shows the world that you are able to do anything you want and be great at it as long as you have the strive to keep going for it.

Q: What is your favorite movie or TV show?

A: Toy Story.

Q: What is your favorite subject in school?

A: Anatomy & Physiology.

Q: What is your dream job?

A: Personal Trainer.

Q: What is your favorite food?

A: Trail Mix or Nut’s in general.

Q: What are your plans after high school?

A: Go to a four year university to study and major in kinesiology and exercise in physiology.

Q: What’s a fun fact about you or hobby you enjoy most people don’t know about?

A: I enjoy beat-boxing in my spare time. It’s very interesting to me how we are able to make noises out of our mouths.

Q: What are your top three pump songs before a big meet?

A: “Bounce Remix (Mayhem & Antiserum Remix)” by Destroid, “Shakedown” by Thomas Newson and “Trapped in Fourths (feat. Mona Moua)” by T-Mass & unkown.

A: “I believe in a thing called love” by the Darkness, “Hotline Bling” by Drake and “Faded” by ZHU.
