A Saturday night shooting left one person injured and three possible suspects at large.

Austin police officers responded to a report of gunshots fired on the 800 block of Ninth Avenue Southwest at 10:52 p.m. Saturday.

Officers found a 19-year-old victim who had been shot in the left foot, according to Police Chief Brian Krueger. Gold Cross Ambulance took the victim to Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin, and he was later transported to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester.

Three possible suspects, all black males, headed northbound on Eighth Street Southwest in a dark-colored SUV.

One suspect — who could have been the shooter — was described as a black male, very tall and wearing a red sweatshirt with white lettering and a cap, Krueger said.

The investigation is ongoing and officers did not know why the shooting took place as of Monday morning.

However, neighbors reported hearing arguing near the area shortly before the shooting took place.
