A vehicle was found after it was stolen when keys were taken from the owner’s jacket.

The victim had set his brown Carhartt jacket down by the ER and went to visit his friend. The jacket contained a set of keys to his 2011 gold Chrysler Town and Country Sport. Hospital video surveillance showed a short, heavier-set woman taking the jacket, according to Police Chief Brian Krueger.

The vehicle stolen from the Mayo Clinic parking lot over the weekend was driven to Hormel Drive, abandoned and later recovered by police.

The unoccupied vehicle was recovered at 11:35 p.m. because it was a traffic hazard on Hormel Drive. Police tried to contact the owner listed on the registration but were unsuccessful and they towed the vehicle. The victim then reported it at 2 a.m. this morning.

Police are still looking for the woman.
