An Austin teen sustained non life-threatening injuries in a crash on Highway 218 south of Austin Friday night

After Kevin Harris, 31, of Austin slowed his 2004 Ford Pickup to turn into a driveway, Karey Westrich, 17 of Austin was unable to stop his 2011 Toyota Scion before briefly swerving into the lane of oncoming traffic and striking the pickup’s left rear end around 7:33 p.m., according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The pickup sustained minor damage, while the Scion sustained moderate damage and was towed by Midtown Towing.

Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, and road conditions were dry at the time.

The Lyle Police Department assisted on the scene.
