The Austin gymnastics won their fourth straight Section 1A title to clinch a trip to the Class A state meet when they put up a season’s best score of 143.3 in Caledonia Saturday.

The Packers will compete in the Class A state team meet at the University of Minnesota Sports Pavilion in Minneapolis Feb. 19.

Austin junior Maddie Mullenbach had a huge day as she broke a Section 1A record with a score of 9.8 on the floor. Mullenbach took first in the all-around with a score of 38.075, she was third in the vault, first in bars and first on beam. She will compete in all four events at the Class A state individual meet Saturday.

Austin sophomore Jennifer Boyle, who is the defending state champ in bars, advanced to the individual state meet in all-around, bars and beam.
