The No. 5 seeded Austin girls hockey team nearly pulled off a big upset, but it had its season end as it lost 2-1 at No. 1 seeded Northfield in the Section 1A semifinals Saturday.

The Raiders (18-9 overall) scored the game-winning goal when Anne Hargis scored a put-back goal with 6:35 left in the game. Hargis tied the game at 1-1 when she scored with 56 seconds left in the second period.

Austin (15-12 overall) had led 1-0 after senior Chloe Summerfield scored a goal in the first period.

Mara Overby made 31 saves in net in her final game for the Packers, who had 15 shots.
