Moises Cayetano Rodriguez was charged with first-degree sale of drugs and first-degree drug possession in June 2015. He pleaded not guilty July 16, 2015, to both counts. He changed his plea to guilty Wednesday as part of a plea agreement, to one count of first-degree sale of drugs, and the charge of first-degree drug possession was dismissed.

According to court records, Rodriguez sold .5 ounces of meth, or about 17 grams, to an informant on June 19 for about $600. Rodriguez also gave the informant about 5 ounces of meth — about 142 grams — to hold for a bit.

Police secured a search warrant for Rodriguez’s home at the Rodeway Inn in Austin and later arrested him as he left the motel. Officers found the $600 used to buy meth on Rodriguez.

He is scheduled to be sentenced April 21.
