Woman arrested in weekend stabbing in AL

ALBERT LEA — A 22-year-old woman is in custody after she allegedly stabbed her ex-boyfriend early Saturday morning in southern Albert Lea.

Police arrested Ashley Nicole Randall, 22, on charges of second-degree assault with a weapon and domestic assault. According to police, additional charges could be brought.

A press release stated police were dispatched to a home on the 800 block of 18 1/2 Street. Upon arrival, officers found a 27-year-old man with a stab wound to the stomach.

Randall had reportedly left the residence and was found within a short distance from the house.

The man was transported to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea. He was treated and released on Sunday.

The Albert Lea Police Department was assisted by the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office, Albert Lea Fire Department and Gold Cross Ambulance.
