The Friends of the Austin Public Library Fall Used Book Sale is getting closer as volunteers and members sorted and priced donations Monday.

The sale to the general public is Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The $5 bag sale is from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

The presale for Friends of the Library members only is from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, and anyone looking to join the Friends of the Library can join at the sale Thursday for $10 per family and receive a free tote bag.

There will also be a special table of gently used books in like-new condition with special pricing for the Thursday presale. Anyone looking to shop for Christmas early can swing by and take a look at the gift-quality books.

Funds raised will provide the Austin Public Library with new programs and materials. Memberships for the Friends of the Library are always available at the front desk. The $10 membership provides the newsletter and entrance to the presale at the fall book sale — there is no presale in the spring — and supports library programs.
