ALBERT LEA — The Albert Lea Police Department has not yet received autopsy results from a shooting death last Thursday in Albert Lea.

Police were dispatched to a report of a medical incident at 1510 Academy Ave. Upon arrival, police found Cody Alan Baseman, 28, with a gunshot wound. Lifesaving attempts were unsuccessful, and Baseman died.

Deputy Director of Police J.D. Carlson said he isn’t sure when more information will be released.

The scene was released to the family last week.

Police stated though there is an ongoing investigation, there does not appear to be any threats to the public.
