Let the music play, the stories run wild and fall drift over Austin with a grand festival this weekend. With Charlie Parr, open mic, a remembrance walk and great food, there’s something to get everyone out and about this beautiful weekend.

1. Open Mic/Karaoke

7-9 p.m., Thursday, The Way Cafe, 210 Fourth St. NE

2. Annual Chicken ‘N’ Biscuits supper and bake sale

4-7 p.m., Thursday, First United Methodist Church

Come enjoy a great meal with old friends, and meet some new ones. Tickets are $9 for adults, $4 for children ages 5-12, and children ages 4 and under are free. Carry outs are available and the dinner is handicapped accessible. Everyone is welcome.

3. Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep Remembrance Walk

9:30 a.m., Friday, Mill Pond  

This remembrance walk is for parents, family members, and friends to come together to remember a precious babies who died due to miscarriage, stillbirth, SIDS, neonatal or any type of pregnancy or infant loss, as well as raise awareness in the community. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m., and the walk begins at 10 a.m. The Austin event is planned in conjunction with the NILMDTS Virtual Remembrance Walk. For more information, contact Lynn at lynnesportraits@gmail.com.

4. Austin Fall Fest

10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Saturday, downtown Austin

This free event is for all ages. Start out with trick or treating with downtown merchants, do pumpkin crafts at the ArtWorks Center, enjoy Matchbox Children’s Theatre mini-shows, and dress up for the Kids’ Costume Contest at the courthouse lawn across from Rydjor Bike Shoppe. Fall Fest sponsored by Vision 2020, and for more information, call Kelsey at 808-652-4552.

7:30 p.m., Saturday, The Historic Paramount Theatre 

Enjoy this evening of music by one of Austin’s own musicians. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door and $5 for students, and are available at the Austin ArtWorks Center, online at www.austinareaarts.org, or by calling 507-434-0934.

6. Pictures at the Orchestra

2 p.m., Sunday, Knowlton Auditorium, Austin High School
