Alumni Update: Grand Meadow grad is leading SMSU in tackles

A few area grads are making their mark on the college football scene.

Grand Meadow grad Caleb Leichtnam is back to playing college football after a one-year hiatus. Leichtnam is the leading tackler at Southwest Minnesota State University with 21 total tackles and he also has 1 interception and 1 pass defensed for the Mustangs (2-0 overall).

After two games at Winona State University, Southland grad Alan May is leading the Warriors (1-1 overall) with 14 catches, 214 yards and one touchdown. May has returned three punts for 21 yards and he has one carry for 6 yards.

Ike Vesel, the son of Austin head football coach Brett Vesel, has 1 solo tackle in two games for the University of Minnesota-Duluth (1-0 overall).
