Elsie Sheely, 72, of Rose Creek, Minnesota, passed away Monday, Aug. 24, 2015, at her home.

Elsie Annette Leslie was born Sept. 5, 1942, in Spring Valley, Minnesota, to Elmer and Evelyn (Guy) Leslie. She was a 1960 graduate of Spring Valley High School. On Sept. 15, 1962, Elsie was united in marriage to Robert Sheely in Spring Valley. Elsie was first employed at IBM for 10 years, then after moving to the Chester, Iowa, area she farmed for 17 years, and after moving to Rose Creek she was employed at Mayo for 20 years, where she was an initial part of starting the employee buses for Mayo. Elsie was a member of the Dexter United Methodist Church, loved to go camping, enjoyed drinking margaritas with her sister-in-law Mary Jo Sheely, and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and following their activities.

Elsie is survived by her husband, Robert of Rose Creek, Minnesota; sons: Curtis (fiancé Patricia Nielsen) of Adams, Minnesota, Steven (Heather) of Bremen, Georgia, and Jeffrey (Kathleen) of Rose Creek, Minnesota; eight grandchildren: Michael (Whitney), Thomas, Marie, Steven II, Sadie, Scott, Ashley, and Cole; one great granddaughter, Esmeralda; and sister, Eileen (Terry) Tobin of Oronoco, Minnesota.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Evelyn; son, Scott; daughter, Michelle; and one granddaughter.

Funeral services for Elsie Sheely will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015, at the Dexter United Methodist Church in Dexter, Minnesota, with Pastor Jon Marburger officiating. Burial will take place in the Dexter Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, 2015, at the Hindt Funeral Home in Grand Meadow, Minnesota, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
