Carol A. Tetzner, 72, of McIntire, Iowa, passed away Friday, July 31, 2015, at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage, Iowa.

Carol Ann Smith was born on Dec. 4, 1942, daughter of Arthur and Pauline (Kleckner) Smith in Adams, Minnesota. She was a 1960 graduate from Adams High School. After high school Carol began work at AT & T as an operator in Rochester, Minnesota. On July 1, 1961, Carol married Frank Tetzner. In 1971, Carol became USPS Postmaster in McIntire and retired in 2001 after 30 years. Carol’s top priority was spoiling her three grandchildren, and then Rudy her four legged companion. She also enjoyed meeting her friends for coffee and playing cards with them, watching NASCAR and the Minnesota Vikings, and trying her luck at the casino.

Surviving Carol are her three sons: Tad (Tammy) Tetzner, Frank Jr. Tetzner, and Terry (Deb) Tetzner all of McIntire, Iowa; grandchildren: Morgan, Marisa, and Brady; a brother Ron (Alicia) Smith of Glennville, Minnesota; her faithful canine companion Rudy; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death was her parents; husband Frank on July 5, 2012; a brother Don “Butch” Smith; and a nephew David Smith.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2015, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Riceville, Iowa. Burial will be held in Wayne Cemetery McIntire, Iowa. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 3, at the Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home, 407 Woodland Ave, Riceville, Iowa, 50466 with a scripture service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue an hour prior to the time of the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
