Elizabeth Zwinger, 33, of Glenville was pronounced dead at the scene. Jacob Garrison, 31, also of Glenville, was taken by Mayo 3 to a Rochester hospital with unknown injuries.

His condition as of press time was unknown.

When first responders were dispatched to 810th Avenue at 9:50 p.m., Garrison was able to tell them they were heading north, according to a Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office news release. He said the deer “came out of nowhere” and they hit the deer.

The two were ejected from the motorcycle.

Neither was reportedly wearing a helmet.

According to the release, when deputies and emergency medical responders arrived, they saw a male standing on the side of a road and a female laying on the west side of the road.

The motorcycle was laying in the middle of the road and a deer was laying on the east side of the road.

Speed and alcohol were not a factor in the crash, according to the release.

The street is also known as Freeborn County Road 26.
