Austin Adult Learning is offering a training to prepare people to work as paraprofessionals in a K-12 setting.

During this training, students will prepare for and take the ParaPro exam. Passing the ParaPro exam is required for those without at least a two year degree. Students will also learn skills necessary to be effective paraprofessionals. This includes both job specific skills as well as soft skills. The paraprofessional career is in great demand in our region and all students who pass this class will be interviewed by Austin Public Schools.

The first class is currently underway but another class will be offered in the future. Austin Adult Learning is able to offer this class through a grant from the Development Corporation of Austin. For more information about this training contact Stacy Edland at 507 460-1708.
