Arnold Ernie Lang, 78, of Austin, Minnesota, died peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday evening, July 29, 2015, at his home after battling cancer.

He was born March 1, 1937, in Austin, Minnesota, to Herman and Florence C. (Sheeley) Lang. On July 28, 1987, Arnold married Tammara Davenport in Las Vegas, Nevada. Besides working in Minnesota, Arnold also worked throughout the years in Iowa, Wyoming, and Michigan. Following his retirement from his position as superintendent of special education and finance in Ithaca, Michigan, in 1998, Arnold moved back to Austin with his family. Among his favorite pastimes were hunting, fishing, and golfing, and he was a talented artist.

Arnold is survived by his wife Tammara Lang of Austin, Minnesota; one daughter, Sierra (Lyle Jr.) Sellers of West Concord, Minnesota; four sons: Jeffoery (Jennifer) Lang of Chandler, Arizona, Tyrone (Leisa) Lang of Savage, Minnesota, Michael Lang of Tamaqua, Pennsylvania, and Damian Lang of Austin, Minnesota; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; two brothers; nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Herman Lang and Florence VonFeldt; and a sister Vera Ingersoll.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 3, 2015, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Austin, 404 31st Street NW, with Bishop Richard Bremner officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:30 to 11 a.m. on Monday at the church prior to services. Interment will be at a later date. Memorials can be directed to the family.
