State golf: Hayfield’s Becker and BP’s Christianson start strong

Four area golfers opened Minnesota Class A state tournament play at Pebble Creek Golf Course in Becker Tuesday.

Hayfield’s Brady Becker shot an 83 to put himself tied for 35th place and Aaron Anderson shot a 92 for the Vikings to tie him for 72nd place.

Tyler Sloan of Grand Meadow-LeRoy-Ostrander shot an 87 and he is tied for 55th place.

Brock Bliese, a freshman from Mounds Park Academy shot a 70 to lead the Class A boys field on day one. The meet will conclude with the second round of 18 holes on Wednesday.

Blooming Prairie sophomore Taylor Christianson had a strong day in the first day of the Class A girls state meet.

Christianson shot an 86 and she is tied for 12th place.

Kierra Smith, a sophomore from Heritage Christian Academy, led the Class A girls field after one day with a score of 76.
