Best Bets: The daring days of dairy

Get ready for a weekend of good sales, great music and days of dairy. With Adams Dairy Days, some good music from a local musical and a local artist, 20 miles of garage sales and even some lake excursions on the Spamtown Belle, this weekend is sure to hold something special for everyone.

1. Adams Dairy Days

There will be rummage sales, a dodgeball tournament, youth wrestling, poker, a walk/bike ride, a pancake breakfast, a golf tournament, youth and adult beanbag tournaments, a pedal pull, a steak fry, appearances from the Dairy Days prince and princess, a parade, kids games and food, kids’ water fights, a chicken fry, an ice-cream eating contest, a milking contest and more. 2. 20 Miles of Garage Sales

9 a.m.-4 p.m., Friday and Saturday, LeRoy, Adams, Rose Creek and everywhere in between

Come find great treasures at garage sales over the weekend. With 20 miles of sales, everyone in the family is bound to find something.

3. Open Stage

7-9 p.m., Friday, Coffee House On Main

4. Music @ the Bank: Four to A Trio

7:30-9 p.m., Friday, Austin ArtWorks Center

5. 3D Archery Shoots

10 a.m.-4 p.m., Saturday, Cedar River Archer Club

The Cedar River Archery Club promotes a safe, fun and family-oriented place where people can come and shoot archery with others that share their passion. For more information, call 507-437-6733.

6. Spamtown Belle Excursions

1-5 p.m., Saturday, 1-5 p.m. Sunday, East Side Lake, Austin

The Spamtown Belle Excursions can be a great summer treat for everyone as the boat is available for charters. Adults cost $2, children $1. For more information, call 507-433-1881.

7. Trace Bundy

7:30-9 p.m., Saturday, Historic Paramount Theatre

Bundy, an instrumental, acoustic guitar player, is returning to the Historic Paramount Theatre. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door and $5 for students. Tickets are available at austinareaarts.org or at the Austin ArtWorks Center. For more information, call 507-434-0934.

8. Fireworks Fundraiser

1:30-3 p.m., Sunday, Eagles Club

The proceeds of this fundraiser go to support Austin’s Fourth of July Celebration. The cost is $40 per painter for a 16-by-20-inch canvas, and two choices will be available. Receive a festival raffle ticket with registration and enter to win a Freedom Fest t-shirt or Americana Solar Garden Stakes.
