Track and field: LP’s Holtz and four others earn state berths in Class A

Five area athletes earned trips to the Class A state meet at the Section 1A track and field meet in Triton Thursday.

Lyle-Pacelli junior Sarah Holtz locked up her second straight appearance at state in the high jump when she won the Section 1A meet with a height of 5-3, GMLOKS senior McKenzie Kirtz advanced in the 800-meter and 1600-meter run, GMLOKS senior Dominic Bouska advanced in the discus, Hayfield senior Cody Carpentier advanced in the discus and shot put and Blooming Prairie senior Taylor Hagen advanced in the shot put.
