The No. 6 seeded Southland baseball team put up a good fight, but its season came to an end when it lost 7-6 in 10 innings to No. 3 Medford (13-6 overall) in a Section 1A West quarterfinal in Medford Thursday.

The Rebels (7-10 overall) scored four times to take a 6-3 lead in the top of the fourth inning, but the Tigers added three runs in the bottom of the fourth to tie things up.

“We played error free ball, but we left twelve runners on base,” Southland head coach Scott Retterath said. “Our younger players gained a great deal of information today and that’s always good.”
