She will speak about making positive choices — whether it is health, nutrition, exercising, being a positive influence or having positive influences in life.

Kalbow will participate in a pageant in St. Cloud in March 2016 and will compete for the title of Miss Minnesota International. The pageant is based on being a positive role model, promoting accomplishments, volunteering and traditional family values.

The official charity of the pageant is the American Heart Association’s “Go Red for Women,” which is close to Kalbow’s heart since her papa Bob died from a heart attack and her grandmother Ann recently passed away with heart issues. Another charity close to Kalbow is the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, for the fight against breast cancer since Kalbow’s grandmother Diane has breast cancer. Kalbow hopes to spread the word about the disease to find a cure to end it.

Kalbow will collect sponsorships for the next few weeks to help on her journey to become Miss Minnesota International.
